Alpay’ın seslendirdiği “Eylül’de Gel” şarkısında hepimizin bir anısı saklıdır. Benim var; eminim sizin de vardır.

“Eylül’de gel…”

Radyoda yükselen bu tanıdık ezgiyle birlikte insanın içini tatlı bir hüzün kaplıyor. Yazın coşkusu yavaş yavaş geride kalırken doğa başka bir renge, hayat başka bir ritme bürünüyor.

Ama söz konusu Marmaris olunca eylül, bir vedadan çok yeni bir başlangıçtır.

Temmuz ve ağustos aylarının kalabalığı azalmaya, sokakların telaşı dinmeye başlar. Güneş artık yakmaz, insanın yüzünü okşar. Deniz hâlâ sıcaktır ama sahiller daha sakindir. Akşamları başlayan hafif serinlik, Marmaris sokaklarında yürümeyi ayrı bir keyfe dönüştürür.

İşte o zaman dünyanın incisi Marmaris’in gerçek güzelliği daha iyi fark edilir.

Sabahın erken saatlerinde sahilde yürüyen insanlar, denizin üzerine düşen ilk güneş ışıkları, limandan sessizce ayrılan tekneler ve kıyıya usulca vuran dalgalar…

Marmaris, eylül ayında insanın ruhuna iyi gelir.

İçmeler’den Turunç’a, Kızkumu’ndan Selimiye’ye, Bozburun’dan Söğüt’e kadar uzanan eşsiz coğrafya bambaşka bir güzelliğe bürünür. Mavi daha mavi, yeşil daha yeşil görünür. Gün batımı ise adeta gökyüzünün Marmaris için hazırladığı eşsiz bir tabloya dönüşür.

Yaz aylarının kalabalığında fark edemediğimiz ayrıntıları eylül ayında yeniden görmeye başlarız. Esnafın gülümsemesini, balıkçıların sabah telaşını, sokak kedilerinin gölgelerdeki huzurunu ve denizden gelen o kendine özgü kokuyu daha derinden hissederiz.

Marmaris yalnızca denizi, kumu ve güneşiyle güzel değildir.

Bu şehri güzel yapan; insanları, mahalleleri, dostlukları ve yıllar içinde biriken hatıralarıdır. Her sokağında başka bir hikâye, her koyunda başka bir güzellik saklıdır.

Bu nedenle Marmaris için “Yaz bitti, sezon sona erdi” demek doğru değildir. Aksine eylül, Marmaris’in en özel zamanlarından biridir. Kültür, sanat, spor ve gastronomi etkinlikleriyle bu güzel dönem çok daha iyi değerlendirilebilir.

Turizmi birkaç aya sıkıştırmak yerine Marmaris’in eylül ve ekim aylarındaki eşsiz güzelliğini bütün dünyaya anlatmalıyız.

Çünkü Marmaris’in güneşi hâlâ sıcak, denizi hâlâ berrak, insanı hâlâ misafirperverdir.

Kalabalığın azalmasıyla birlikte şehir biraz nefes alır. Marmaris, sanki aynanın karşısına geçip kendi güzelliğini yeniden hatırlar.

Şarkı usulca devam ederken ben de denize bakıyorum…

Gel ki Marmaris’in sokakları huzurla dolsun.

Gel ki gün batımları biraz daha uzun sürsün.

Gel ki dünyanın incisi Marmaris, bütün güzelliğini yeniden göstersin.

Çünkü Marmaris her mevsim güzeldir; ama eylülde bir başka güzeldir.

Come in September, Marmaris Is Even More Beautiful

Alpay’s song “Eylül’de Gel” — “Come in September” — holds a special memory for all of us. I have mine, and I am sure you have yours too.

“Come in September…”

As that familiar melody rises from the radio, a gentle sense of nostalgia fills the heart. The excitement of summer slowly begins to fade, while nature takes on different colours and life settles into a new rhythm.

But when it comes to Marmaris, September is not so much a farewell as it is a new beginning.

The crowds of July and August gradually disappear, and the bustle of the streets begins to ease. The sun no longer burns; it gently caresses your face. The sea is still warm, but the beaches are quieter. The light evening breeze makes walking through the streets of Marmaris a pleasure in itself.

That is when the true beauty of Marmaris, the pearl of the world, becomes even easier to appreciate.

People strolling along the seafront in the early morning, the first rays of sunlight falling across the water, boats quietly leaving the harbour and gentle waves reaching the shore…

Marmaris is good for the soul in September.

From İçmeler to Turunç, from Kızkumu to Selimiye, and from Bozburun to Söğüt, this unique landscape takes on an entirely different beauty. The blue seems bluer and the green even greener. At sunset, the sky becomes a magnificent painting created especially for Marmaris.

In September, we begin to notice the details that are easily missed amid the summer crowds: the smile of a local shopkeeper, the morning rush of the fishermen, the peacefulness of street cats resting in the shade and the unmistakable scent of the sea.

Marmaris is not beautiful only because of its sea, sand and sunshine.

What truly makes this town beautiful is its people, its neighbourhoods, its friendships and the memories gathered over the years. Every street holds a different story, and every bay hides a different kind of beauty.

For that reason, it would be wrong to say, “Summer is over, so the season has ended.” On the contrary, September is one of the most special times of the year in Marmaris. With cultural, artistic, sporting and culinary events, this wonderful period could be enjoyed and promoted far more effectively.

Instead of limiting tourism to just a few months, we should tell the whole world about the unique beauty of Marmaris in September and October.

The sun is still warm, the sea is still crystal clear, and the people are as welcoming as ever.

As the crowds thin out, the town finally has a chance to breathe. It is almost as though Marmaris looks into a mirror and remembers its own beauty once again.

As the song continues softly, I look out towards the sea…

Come, so that the streets of Marmaris may be filled with peace.

Come, so that the sunsets may last a little longer.

Come, so that Marmaris, the pearl of the world, may reveal all its beauty once again.

Because Marmaris is beautiful in every season, but in September, it is beautiful in a way all its own.
